Knight Riders and IPL
The Kolkata Knight Riders is one of the eight franchises of the Indian Premier League or the IPL. Shah Rukh Khan or King Khan as he is popularly referred to is one of the principle owners of the Kolkata Knight Riders.
The Kolkata Knight Riders began season 3 of the IPL with a back to back blazing victory. But just like the previous two seasons it was not able to make good of this spectacular start. Despite some great individual performances, the Kolkata Knight Riders were unable to feature among the top 4 teams. The team had to settle for the sixth place which is only a slight improvement on its dismal performance the previous year.
However. despite their poor on-field performance, the KKR remains one of the most popular brands in the IPL with Saurav Ganguly featuring as their iconic player.
